From the ECB Board of Directors:

The ECB Board is very excited for the 2022/2023 season and welcoming all our dancers back to our new studio on Bronson. The facilities team has been working tirelessly with our builder and the city of Renton to complete the tasks needed to obtain our occupancy permit prior to our opening day of classes on September 6th. Watch for additional updates this week.

One of the Board of Directors' next priorities is to hire a new Artistic Director. We are in the process of forming a search committee responsible for defining and implementing the search process. We want to ensure we take the time necessary to hire a leader who encompasses our values and can fulfill our mission to provide high quality dance education and performance opportunities to students of all ages and to enrich the diverse communities in the Puget Sound region through performances, outreach, and community engagement initiatives.

While the AD search process is being done, it's essential we have someone in place to carry out the AD roles and responsibilities, and lead our Elevate and Nutcracker productions. The Board is happy to announce Marte Osiris Madera will be our interim Artistic Director this Fall. Marte joined our teaching staff this Spring and brings with him an extensive Fine Arts education and years of professional dance experience (see bio below). Marte will be working closely with Nathan, Denali and staff in producing our Elevate and Nutcracker performances this fall. Please welcome Marte and provide him all the support he needs to ensure our dancers learn, grow, and thrive while putting on outstanding performances this season!

Thank you again for your love and support of ECB. We know it has been a challenging 2022, but we are excited to return to the studio with all our young dancers. If you have any questions or feedback, please email board@evergreencityballet.org.
