Dear ECB Families,
I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of our new students and families and a joyous welcome back to our returning families as we hop into Evergreen CIty Ballet’s 31st season!
Welcome to ECB’s Weekly Bulletin - a weekly email that will be sent out on Saturdays. This will be the place to go for any updates, studio reminders, education tools, rehearsals, ticket sales for families and information about ECB’s community events. Let's get started!
Studio Reminders
All dancers enrolled at ECB should come prepared for class with a water bottle and their hair neatly styled.HERE is a link for how to make a classical ballet bun. There are other hair styling options, but long must be pulled neatly off the face and neck. “Sloppy” buns or sock buns are style options we don't recommend as they do not look as neat or feel as secure.
All dancers, Creative movement through the upper levels, are not permitted to wear underwear under their tights. Please remember that tights are a dancer's underwear.
If you have any questions on your dancers hair or need help with creating that ballet bun Ms.Theresa and Ms. Denali are often available in the lobby before the start of classes!
Nutcracker Information
Thank you to everyone that joined us for Nutcracker auditions over the last few weekends! Mr. Nathan, Ms. Debbi and I(Ms. Denali) will be hard at work organizing the cast list over the next few weeks!
A Nutcracker specific email will be sent out next week with the sign-up on iClassPro. You must sign your dancer up on iClassPro in order for the cast list to be finalized. The Cast List will be posted on the Call board in the studio and sent in an email along with the first rehearsal schedule for the first full week of October.
Two things about casting. One, the casting decisions are firm and are not open to negotiations and two, the cast list is always subject to change. The staff spends many hours making sure that the final casting is safe and fun for each individual dancer. A dancer's ability, technique, focus, and attendance are all taken into consideration when casting.
Something Fun
Here Ms Theresa and Ms. Denali will be posting events, educational tools and other variety of fun information!
For this week, this is the 50th anniversary of Balanchine’s Jewels here in Seattle. Pacific Northwest Ballet’s season opener is going to be a dazzling performance! Below are a few links on the story and representation of the performances!

PNB is also apart of the TeenTix program which is a program that exists to break down the barriers that prevent teens from accessing art in our community, such as ticket or admission cost, not knowing where to look for events, navigating transportation around the city, and feeling insecure around arts-going if there's no one in their lives already championing the arts.
All teens (13-19 years old) can sign up for a FREE TeenTix pass to access their favorite museums, plays, concerts, and more for just $5. Through their handy events calendar, teens can find in-person and online art events of all genres at any of their 70+ partner organizations. Plus, their E-Newsletter provides weekly updates. They also include relevant ticket and bus information to make these events as accessible as possible.

Thank you for an amazing first two weeks!
Happy Dancing,
Ms. Denali
