appy Saturday ECB Families!
Observation Week
Our next Observation Week of the year is Monday, May 11-Saturday, May 16. Observation Week is when we invite you into the classroom to see your dancer's hard work up close. Here are some tips to help everyone have a successful watch week:
All observers must verify that they are feeling healthy and not currently experiencing any flu-like or cold-like symptoms before attending their dancer’s class.
All observers must arrive on time and stay for the entire length of your dancer's class. Coming and going in the middle of class can be distracting for students – especially our younger ones!
We will have chairs set up in the front of each studio for our visitors. Remember to remove street shoes before stepping onto the marley floor. Thank you for helping to preserve our dance floors!
To avoid disruptions, please silence your devices and save any questions that you have for our instructors until the end of class.
Non-flash photography is welcome and encouraged! Be sure to tag us on social media ☺️
If you have any questions about Observation Week, please email Mr. Nathan at principal@evergreencityballet.org.
Please note: Observation Week is for classes only. Rehearsals are not open for observation.
UPDATE Virtual Seminar: Fueling the Artistic Athlete w/ Kayla Freeman (Ballet III+)
Today’s webinar with Kayla Freeman has been rescheduled for Thursday, May 21 from 7:00pm-8:00pm in person at ECB. This seminar has vital information that we feel is crucial for our dancers and their families to have access to, so the seminar will be free for everyone. Dancers in the Pre-Professional Program are required to attend, and their caregivers are strongly encouraged to attend. Ballet IV is invited to attend class with Upper Ballet V-PD from 4:30pm-6:30pm prior to the seminar. Please contact Mr. Nathan at principal@evergreencityballet.org if you have any questions. Thank you!
Family Pilates for Injury Prevention w/ Perry Bevington (Ballet IV+)
Join Perry Bevington on May 16 from 2:15pm-3:30pm for Pilates for Injury Prevention! If you’re coming to watch your dancer in class on Saturday for Observation week, why not stick around and give this class a try with your dancer?
Designed for ECB dancers and their caregivers in Ballet IV & up, this Pilates workshop with Perry Bevington invites you to step into your dancer’s world and share in their journey. Together, you’ll build core strength, alignment, and body awareness while gaining a deeper understanding of the physical demands of dance. Caregivers will walk away with practical tools to support their dancer’s growth, while also improving their own strength, mobility, and overall well-being. It’s a chance to connect, learn, and move side by side in and out of the studio. Cost is $35 per family unit.
Spring Production Video Update
By now, you should have heard from Eric Paine if you placed an order for your 2026 Spring Production video. Eric had an unexpected scheduling conflict during our Saturday performance and could not attend at the last minute. Staff were not properly notified until intermission, so we unfortunately do not have a recording of Cast 2 performing We Are Infinite. We were able to set up a phone to record Sleeping Beauty from the light booth, and we’ll be sending a free copy of that to everyone in Cast 2 as soon as it’s ready.
We would like to invite all Cast 2 performers for We Are Infinite to reprise their performance for their families in the studio next Wednesday, May 13, from 7:30pm-8:00pm. Although we do not allow families to video record during performances, you will be allowed to film this in-studio performance.
Dancers in Ballet III are invited to attend class with Ballet IV from 6:00pm-7:30pm that day to warm-up.
All dancers should wear normal rehearsal attire for this informal performance. Don’t forget your white sneakers!
Thankfully, Eric was present to capture Sunday’s performance and will be delivering those videos. If you need support with your video order, please contact Eric directly at theatredvds@gmail.com, and he can assist you.
We apologize for this occurrence, and we will be taking the necessary steps to avoid this situation in the future.

Looking for a sprung floor?
One of the physical therapists we have partnered with in the past in selling a sprung floor that he had made for his PT office. If you’re interested in having one for your dancer to use for home practice, check this one out!
Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week
Hosted by the ECB Parent Guild from June 1-6, 2026
Throughout Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week, dancers are encouraged to write notes or draw pictures for their teachers to show their appreciation.
The Parent Guild is also collecting monetary donations from families to purchase gifts for each instructor and staff member. Cash donations may be turned in to Sidney in the office for safekeeping or sent via Venmo to our Parent Guild President, @Christy-Wyborny, who will ensure the funds are given to Sidney.
All donations collected will be pooled together and evenly distributed in the form of gifts/gift cards for all teachers and staff throughout the week. The last day to submit donations is Friday, May 15.
Parent Ambassadors:
Carolyn Weger – Ballet I
Viridiana Holish – Ballet II
Deadra Vandermeer – Ballet III
Lisa Graves – Ballet IV
Hiromi Saito – Ballet V
Michele Abueg – Ballet VI
Christy Wyborny – PD
Thank you for your support and for helping us recognize all the hard work our teachers and staff have put in this year!
I wish a happy mother's day to all who celebrate!
Sincerely,
Ms. Theresa
