Beginning Adult Ballet Summer Series

Join us on Saturdays this summer for our Beginning Adult Ballet Mini Series taught by Ms. Theresa!

This Beginner Adult Ballet Mini Series has been especially created for those who have never taken a dance class before or who may be returning after many years.  This class will focus on alignment and basic feet position, port de bras, vocabulary, and correct placement. Students will also learn class etiquette. The basics of strength building, flexibility, and body awareness will be a major component of this class.

This class is open to all skill and ability levels.

I LOVE making ballet accessible. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions!

Tuition: $90

Class Schedule: Saturdays, 1:15pm-2:45pm (July 18, July 25, August 1, August 8)

Season Finale 2026

Mr. Nathan sent out a big Season Finale 2026 email on Wednesday with the ticket link, volunteer sign-up, production schedule, and more! If you did not receive that email, please reach out to him at principal@evergreencityballet.org

Wardrobe Support

Ms. Debbi is working on organizing costumes, accessories, and supplies through the end of the season. To support this work, she is asking for clear storage containers of all sizes. If you have gently used ones, we would love your donation!

You can also offer support by purchasing through the Amazon Wish List or donating Walmart gift cards.

Dance Portrait Opportunity with Kerry Jeane Photography

Kerry Jeane Photography took some beautiful photographs during Nutcracker this year, and she’s reached out with a dance portrait opportunity for our students at ECB. If you are interested in finding out more, please click this link to sign up for her mailing list.

A Note From Mrs. Margarita

Dear ECB Families,

I wanted to share with you all that my family and I have made the very unexpected and difficult decision to move to Florida, with my last day in Washington being August 10. This was never something we had planned, and to be completely honest, we truly envisioned building our lives here for the foreseeable future. But sometimes life takes unexpected turns, and after a great deal of thought, we decided this was the best choice for our family.

As difficult as this transition is, I cannot express enough how deeply grateful I am for my time at Evergreen City Ballet. From the moment I began working alongside Nathan Cook, our incredible faculty, staff, students, and families, this school has brought so much healing and joy into both my personal and professional life.

ECB has always felt incredibly special to me because it embodies the kind of environment I wish I had access to during my own childhood and pre-professional training years. Being part of a school that prioritizes not only strong dance education, but also a positive, nurturing, and holistic environment for dancers of all goals and aspirations, has meant everything to me. Contributing to that mission and supporting our dancers in their growth and dreams has truly been one of the greatest honors of my career.

If it were not for these unexpected life changes, I would have never imagined leaving Evergreen City Ballet. I am endlessly proud of all the students I’ve had the privilege of teaching and working with, and I am so excited to see how much each of you continues to grow in the years ahead.

I know there have been many changes happening in our lives and communities lately, and change can often feel overwhelming. But I truly believe ECB is one of those rare places that can serve as a safe and inspiring space. A place where dancers can step away from the noise of the world and focus clearly on their goals and dreams.

Change is inevitable, but what truly matters is how we carry forward the kindness, discipline, artistry, and support we learn in these nurturing spaces into the communities and people we encounter throughout our lives.

I also want to say how excited I am for all of you to continue working with the incredible faculty and staff at ECB, the people who have built and continue to uphold the beautiful foundation and mission of this school. I have been so proud to be part of it.

Thank you all for opening your hearts and minds to me, for trusting me with your dancers, and for allowing me to be part of your journeys. I will carry this community with me always. While Florida will become home again, Washington and especially ECB will always hold a piece of my heart. I absolutely plan on popping in to visit whenever I have the chance.

With so much love and gratitude,

Mrs. Margarita

ECB is so fortunate to have had a teaching artist like Margarita Armas here at our school to work with and inspire our students. Her dedication to supporting them as growing dancers and humans is such a gift, and she will be sorely missed. We’re already talking about how we can bring her back out for guest teaching and choreographic opportunities, so this is not a goodbye, but a see you later. She will be with us all summer long to teach at our Summer Intensive, Jr. Summer Intensive, and Summer Classes, and we hope your dancer is able to join us. She will also be available for private lessons this summer, which can be scheduled by emailing Mr. Nathan (principal@evergreencityballet.org) and Mx. Sidney (officeadmin@evergreencityballet.org).

I wish you all a lovely weekend.

Sincerely,

Ms. Theresa
