Hello ECB,

If you are new to ECB this week, welcome to ECB’s Weekly Bulletin - a weekly email that will be sent out on Saturdays (eventually). This will be the place to go for any updates, studio reminders, educational tools, upcoming production/performance information, ticket sales for families and information about ECB’s community events. So, let's get started!

Support the Wardrobe Department

Ms. Debbi is the reason your dancer gets to perform in such beautiful costumes. The time required for the organization, planning, fitting and actual sewing for each costume take many, many hours. Every year each costume is adjusted for the new dancer that will be wearing it - If you have any sewing skills please send Ms. Debbi an email or pop into the Wardrobe workroom (near the offices) to say hi! There is always more work to be done and we could not do it without our wonderful volunteers.

If sewing is not in your wheelhouse, please take a look at the Wardrobe Departments carefully curated Amazon Wishlist HERE to donate! Anything helps!

Ms. Debbi is not only in charge of Costumes, she plays a vital role in the well-being, and polished looks of your dancers both backstage and onstage. Hairspray, bobby pins, make up remover wipes, baby wipes, donations of performance tights etc are all highly valuable items that Debbi manages backstage. Don’t ever hesitate to send her an email or Slack message at wardrobe@evergreencityballet.org or to Debbi Malady on Slack.

Pilates Privates w/ former ECB Instructor Perry Bevington

As a retired professional ballet dancer and certified STOTT Pilates Instructor, I am interested in using my knowledge to work with and train dancers.

Pilates has helped me come back from injuries related to dance and continues to keep me staying strong and active post dance.  My goal and hope is I can pass on what I have received to help dancers build better body awareness, stability and strength for success both inside and, just as importantly, outside the studio.

Feel free to contact me,  bevingtonp26@gmail.com for more information either about Pilates or to schedule a time to meet!

About Perry

Perry is originally from Mesa, AZ where she started her journey in ballet at age 4 with her twin sister. She received her early training and performance experience with pre-professional company Ballet Etudes where she had the opportunity to participate in multiple performances ranging from The Nutcracker to original contemporary works.

At age sixteen, she relocated with her family to Washington where she and her sister enrolled with Pacific Northwest Ballet (PNB) under scholarship. Perry has attended summer intensive programs with PNB, School of American Ballet, Oregon Ballet Theater and City Ballet of San Diego.  Her professional training has also included work and performance opportunities with PNB's Professional Division Program, Cincinnati Ballet, and Nevada Ballet Theatre. Over the years, her favorite roles have included Twyla Tharp’s Sweet Fields; Tall Fairy in George Balanchine’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream; Dew Drop Fairy in the Nutcracker; Winter Fairy in Cinderella.

Perry became a certified STOTT Pilates Instructor and enjoys using her knowledge and experience in both dance, exercise and health to focus on educating and training dancers in both strong technique and injury prevention.

Nutcracker

It is time :) Nutcracker Season is here! Below you will find the Sign-up link to make sure your dancer is registered, this is especially important for our Open Program students and for ALL dancers in Primary Ballet I and Ballet II,  Upper Ballet 5 and up dancers will find their first rehearsal schedule and partial casting.

  • Please sign up HERE for the Nutcracker Camp(s) and choose the correct camp for your dancer. If there are any questions or concerns about the sign up process/ performance fee please email Sidney at officeadmin@evergreencityballet.org

  • Party Parents and Party Boys, I will be sending an email soon to all families of dancers who are signed up for this year's performances of the Nutcracker to ask Parents to Volunteer to dance on stage as Party Parents, the rehearsals are fun, laid back, we will teach you anything that you need to know, and will be happening on Monday evenings after classes end (starting near the end of October) with Mr. Nathan! If your dancer has a younger, or older brother, ages 7-11 (ish) and they would like to help cause some chaos on stage (some choreography will be learned, jumping, running, trumpets and maybe even a rat will be used to cause the chaos!) please let me know!

I hope everyone had a wonderful and restful weekend!
