Weekly Bulletin - April 6

Hello ECB!!

We have a big bulletin this week with lots of information, including more information on our Summer Dance Camp programs! As usual, please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Spring Break Reminder

A reminder that ECB will be closed for Spring Break from Sunday, April 6-Saturday, April 12. No classes or rehearsals will be held during this time. All regular programming will resume on Monday, April 14.

From the Desk of the Artistic Director

Dear ECB Dancers and Families,

I know I shared my Director’s Digest earlier this week, after our successful Evergreen International Dance Festival (EIDF), but I’m delighted to write to you again, as there are always exciting developments happening within our ECB family!

-First, a big thank you to our Board President, Brian Wallace, and his family for their incredible effort and generosity. Thanks to them, we now have new signage along the pathway in front of the building, which enhances our visibility in the community.

-Additionally, we’ve installed a mailbox by the front door, making it faster and more convenient to receive important communications and saving us extra expenses from the post office.

-As we count down the weeks to our next performances, I am thrilled to remind you of Jennifer Porter’s magnificent choreography of Hansel & Gretel. This production, hosted by Newport High School Orchestra under the direction of our talented Music Director, Barney Blough, will grace the stage from May 2–4. It’s an incredible opportunity for all of us to shine, demonstrating how much we’ve grown and the exceptional talent we have to offer.

-As we head into Spring Break, I encourage everyone to take this time to rest and recharge. Let’s come back full of energy, ready to give our best and make these performances unforgettable.

Vote for ECB in the Best Of Renton Awards!

I also want to share some exciting news: we have the incredible opportunity to compete for the Best of Renton award! Winning this would be a testament to all the hard work, talent, and dedication that makes ECB the Premier Pre-Professional School of Dance.

To support us, please visit this link https://rentonreporter2.secondstreetapp.com/Best-Of-Renton-2025/ and nominate and cast your vote for ECB. Look for the section marked "Health and Fitness" after in "Best Dance/Drama Facility" and place your nomination, where you can insert your choice.

This is a chance for us to shine even brighter in the community, and I know you all share the pride we have in ECB. Let’s come together and make this happen!

Thank you so much for your support and enthusiasm, every vote matters!

Wishing you all a restful and inspiring break!

Mr. Max

Hansel & Gretel Tickets

Tickets are now on sale for Hansel & Gretel!

Newport High School Orchestra is excited to collaborate with Evergreen City Ballet to present Hansel & Gretel: Don't Get Lost in the Woods. The production will feature live music performed by the Newport Philharmonic, conducted by Barney Blough, and dance performed by the Evergreen City Ballet, under the direction of Maximiliano Guerra with choreography by Jennifer Porter. This unique collaboration provides young musicians and dancers with the experience of working together on a live show, resulting in a wonderfully joyful performance that’s sure to enchant audiences of all ages. Hansel & Gretel will be held May 2-4 at the Newport Performing Arts Center.

Wardrobe Wishlist

The Wardrobe department has been hard at work preparing costumes for the spring performance of Hansel & Gretel and have now moved on to our year-end performance of Season Finale. Ms. Debbi's goals are always to provide our dancers with the best costumes possible so that they feel fantastic on stage! For each show, our available budget needs to cover not only materials and costume basics, but also supplies/consumables so that we have everything our dancers need backstage. Anything that can be donated to the Wardrobe Department helps us put on our beautiful productions throughout the year and helps our youngest performers all the way up to our guest artists stay performance ready!

Ms. Debbi has recently updated the wishlist, this list covers our most recent needs for the Season Finale Performance.  Please consider donating! Even one thing helps!

Spring Production

After Spring Break we will only have two weeks until we are in the theater for Hansel and Gretel- please make sure that you're double-checking the Rehearsal Schedule even for the days that your dancers are not typically at the studio.

As a reminder the time between class and rehearsal is your dancers personal time to prepare for rehearsals, eat and use the restroom and be ready to go by the start time.

I hope you all have a restfull Spring Break!

I will see you all soon,

Ms. Denali
