Summer Training Opportunity – SIDXAbroad: Seoul
As you look at potential summer intensive options, check out the new program Mr. Nathan is heading up in his new position with the Seattle International Dance Festival – SIDXAbroad: Seoul!
Ever dreamed of taking your dancing across the world? This summer, step into Seoul — a city where ancient palaces meet cutting‑edge creativity — and train alongside global artists. SIDXAbroad blends professional touring, immersive workshops, and cultural exchange into one transformative week. Open to dancers 14+ with intermediate to advanced training. Apply by Jan 17, 2026. Click here to learn more!
Pilates Workshop w/ Perry Bevington
Join us on Saturday, January 31, for two Pilates workshops with Perry Bevington, designed to support both our dancers and the adults who support them. Dancers ages 13+ will focus on core strength, alignment, and injury prevention to enhance their ballet training in the first class from 2:30pm-3:30pm. Following the dancer class, parents/guardians are invited to enjoy a welcoming class centered on strength, posture, and mindful movement. This is a great opportunity for the whole ECB community to move, feel stronger, and take care of their bodies together!
Ms. Perry Bevington will also be returning to our faculty ECB in 2026. She will be taking over the Upper ballet V/VI/PD technique class on Saturdays from 12:00pm-2:00pm. We are so excited to have her back at ECB!

Elevate 2026
When we return in the New Year, we’ll be diving right into Elevate, our annual student choreography showcase. Each year, members of our PD program are given the opportunity to create new dance works completely from scratch and learn the ropes of what it takes to produce a dance performance. This year, they will have ECB Core Faculty member Margarita Armas guiding them as their Choreographic Mentor. In addition, Jennifer Porter will return to create a brand new work on the PDs.
Dancers in Upper Ballet V & up are invited to audition and participate in this program. Please make note of the following important dates:
Tuesday, December 30: Zoom Choreographer Meeting (PD Only)
Monday, January 5: Choreographer Audition for Curation (PD Only)
You will be dismissed early from class to present your choreographic proposal.
Wednesday, January 7: Dancer Auditions (Upper Ballet V & up)
Thursday, February 12: Tech/Dress Rehearsal
Friday, February 13 & Saturday, February 14: Elevate Performances
Note: The dates were originally 2/14 & 2/15, and have changed to the above dates. Please make a note in your calendar, and find an updated ECB School Calendar attached below.
Announcing Our Spring Production 2026
We are excited to announce that our 2026 Spring Production will be choreographed by our very own Margarita Armas. Margarita will restage her original contemporary ballet, We Are Infinite, first created for the Miami City Ballet School, and will also create a new, original version of Sleeping Beauty especially for ECB. The performances will be held at the Foster High School Performing Arts Center on Saturday, May 2 @ 7:00pm & Sunday, May 3 @ 1:30pm.
Ballet III & up are invited to audition for this production on Wednesday, January 14 at the following times:
Ballet III & Upper Ballet IV: 7:30pm-8:00pm
Upper Ballet V-PD: 8:00pm-8:45pm
Note: Auditions for Spring Production were originally scheduled for January 17 and have changed to the above date. This date is also reflected on the attached ECB School Calendar.
Year-End Giving
As we approach the end of the year, we’re thankful for our community’s ongoing support. For those considering a year-end charitable gift, donations help sustain our programs and create meaningful opportunities for our dancers. There is never an obligation. Just our sincere appreciation!
Nutcracker 2025
Congratulations to everyone on making this year’s Nutcracker such a huge success! The dancers put their all into their performances, and they blew our audiences away. Parents, you stepped up in a big way to volunteer this year, and we can’t thank you enough for giving your time so generously in support of ECB and its dancers. This production cannot happen each year without your support!
Nutcracker galleries by Erin Elise are now ready for viewing. We’ll be sure to share Michelle Smith Lewis' galleries when we receive them. If you haven’t already, be sure to order your video copy of this year’s performances from Eric Paine! Order form linked below.
To close, I want to give a huge shout out to the team at ECB that I am so lucky to work alongside of. I don’t know what I would do without this group of people.
Ms. Denali, Mx. Sidney, and Ms. Andrea really stepped up in my absence for Nutcracker this year, in addition to managing the many other responsibilities they already handle to bring this show to the stage. I don’t know what I would do without them.
Ms. Debbi went above and beyond to ensure every dancer stepped onstage looking and feeling their best, thanks to the countless hours she devoted to preparing our gorgeous costumes. From designing brand-new pieces (can we get a round of applause for the new Ice Princess dresses?) to navigating ongoing supply shortages and making unexpected costume repairs, we owe the utmost gratitude to Ms. Debbi.
A special thanks to Ms. Margarita & Ms. Theresa, who were instrumental in helping things run smoothly during the performances this year. ECB is so fortunate to have them on our team!
And lastly, I’d like to thank the ECB Board of Directors for trusting, supporting, and empowering this wonderful team to make ECB the best that it can be for everyone.
I hope everyone has a great winter break and happy holidays with their loved ones. We will see you in 2026!
Warm regards,
Nathan Cook
