Weekly Bulletin - October 18

Hello ECB,

We have lots of information to share this weekend - some is fun and some is very important to the well being of the building and school. Please read through carefully and let me know if you have any questions!

Studio Reminder

Please do not use the driveway in front of the building when dropping off & picking up your dancer. The space in front is reserved for staff only so that we can keep the driveway clear for dancers to come and go. Please refer to our Drop-Off/Pick-Up Procedures for more information.

Do Not Flush Menstrual Products

The ADA bathroom is now operational after being out of order this past week. The plumber who came to service the bathroom let us know it was tampons that had caused the blockage. Please do not flush ANY menstrual products down our old pipes. For your convenience, there are small trash cans in each stall/bathroom that you may use to discreetly dispose of these items.

Observation Week

The first Observation Week of the year is next Monday, October 20-Saturday, October 25. Observation Week is when we invite you into the classroom to see your dancer's hard work up close. Here are some tips to help everyone have a successful watch week:

  • All observers must verify that they are feeling healthy and not currently experiencing any flu-like or cold-like symptoms before attending their dancer’s class.

  • All observers must arrive on time and stay for the entire length of your dancer's class. Coming and going in the middle of class can be distracting for students – especially our younger ones!

  • We will have chairs set up in the front of each studio for our visitors. Remember to remove street shoes before stepping onto the marley floor. Thank you for helping to preserve our dance floors!

  • To avoid disruptions, please silence your devices and save any questions that you have for our instructors until the end of class.

  • Non-flash photography is welcome and encouraged! Be sure to tag us on social media :)

If you have any questions about Observation Week, please email Mr. Nathan at principal@evergreencityballet.org.

Please note: Observation Week is for classes only. Rehearsals are not open for observation.

JOIN THE PARENT GUILD! Wednesday October 22, 2025, 7PM

Our first meeting will be Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 7PM. Attend the meeting to find out about the Parent Guild and learn about our objectives to enrich ECB and our students this year. All parents of ECB students are welcome!

The second meeting will be Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 7PM and will focus on Surviving the Nutcracker. This meeting will provide tons of information for you and your students to help navigate rehearsals, theaters, and performances.

AUBURN TRUNK-OR-TREAT - Saturday, October 25, 2025

Help promote ECB by volunteering to hand out candy and Nutcracker flyers at the Auburn Trunk-or-Treat with Drosselmeyer at Les Grove Park in Auburn. There will be two shifts, 1 to 3 PM and 3 to 5 PM, and we'd like two dancers in costume per shift with a chaperone. HERE is a link to sign up!

COFFEE CHAT - Saturday, November 1, 2025

The Parent Guild would like to invite you to join the next Coffee Chat in front of ECB on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 11am to 1pm. Stop by to learn more about the Parent Guild and what we're planning to help ECB this year. The Parent Guild will provide coffee and a few breakfast items. Feel free to bring your own favorite breakfast/brunch item, but please make sure all items are nut free!

Nutcracker Things!

What an amazing second week of Nutcracker. Dancers you are doing so great!

  • Parents (and Dancers): I would like to ask that you no longer talk/discuss or comment about chorography or dancers, past or present, in ECB's public spaces. You never know who is listening or what can be heard or passed on, or how something may be interpretted by another person. If you have something you would like to discuss or have any concerns about, please find a member of the Artistic Staff to do so. Otherwise, please remember that our goal here at ECB is to create a safe space for ALL who wish to dance. Thank you for your consideration and awareness.

  • There were a few dancers/Parents who wanted access to the slack channels. I will add the clipsof rehearals into the slack channels once all the families are in so that they dont miss anything! Please send me an email with the email and name that you would like me to add to the ECB Slack.

  • On October 29th, ECB has a outing planned with the Renton Senior Activity Center as part of our outreach. I am planning to invite five or six Upper Level dancers to participate. I will be sending an email on Tuesday to dancers/roles I have in mind to perform at the Renton Senior Center.

  • Party Parents, I have not forgotten about you, I will aslo be sending a follow email with your casting and rehearsal/costume fitting reminders on Tuesday as well. Thank you for your patience! :)

Here is next weeks reharsal schedule - Nutcracker_2025_Rehearsal_Schedule_10_20_-_10_25.pdf

Best,

Ms. Denali
